Men’s Physique
Incredible number of 192 competitors, with the longest category at this year’s Arnold: 54 athletes in up to 180 cm class! Six categories and gold medals went to 5 countries. Only the USA won 2 “golds”, the others went to Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil and Spain. Unexpected good places taken by competitors from Mexico, Venezuela and Kuwait as well as participation of athletes from Morocco, Egypt, New Zealand, Australia, China and Chile is an evidence that this rather new IFBB division has been spread all over the world.

Up to 170 cm category: top two places for Brazil. After placing 2nd last year, Caio Pannain regain the title won in 2013. In the finals also two competitors from the USA and one from Mexico.

Up to 172 cm category: new star was born: Miguel Angel Gallegos – a young Mexican boy, 18-years-old junior, who placed 3rd at the last year’s World Juniors Championships. After next few months of working out he won the Arnold USA title, ahead of 20 others competitors. Rodrogo Barbosa moved up from the 7th place at the 2014 Arnold Brazil to 2nd place in Columbus now. Impressive progress!

Up to 175 cm category: new faces at the top: Abel Carreno Sousa (Spain) competed in classic bodybuilding in the past (5th place at 2012 Arnold Europe) but now he is successful in men’s physique. The 2nd place to Omar Alkhalaf (Kuwait) and this is the first so high position for Kuwaiti men’s physique athlete at the international contests.

Up to 180 cm category: new face from Venezuela, Julio Gamez, won over much more experienced athletes: 2014 Arnold Europe runner-up Andrea Mosti (Italy) and 2014 Arnold Brazil 3rd place finisher George Luis Estrella (Dominican Republic). Few well-known names out of the top ten: World Championships bronze medal winner Eduardo Monteiro (Brazil), last year’s Arnold USA runner-up Stanislas Delongeaux (Nigeria) or 2014 Arnold Europe winner Alexandru Ceobanu (Romania).

Up to 182 cm category: the next new star at the top: Benyamin Jahrami (USA). He won over the 2014 Olympia Amateur Latin America winner Darnell Williams (Canada) and the sensational Kuwaiti Mahmoud Alnajjar.

Over 182 cm category: the second longest category at this Arnold, with 41 competitors in the line-up. Two well-know athletes moved up to the top places: Joshua Self (USA) from the 4th place last year and Juan Herrera Ramirez (Mexico) from the 3rd position at the 2014 Olympia Amateur Latin America.

Men’s physique overall: clear victory of Benyamin Jahrami (USA), ahead of Julio Gamez (Venezuela) and Miguel Angel Gallegos (Mexico), with only one-point difference between them.

Women’s Physique:
A solid number of 45 athletes equally spread between two categories. Many well-known names on the stage but they were not the winners this time.
Up to 163 cm class trophy went to Mexican girl Claudia de Leon Pardo, who debuted at Arnold. It was a close battle of three girls: de Leon, Petra Urbankova (Czech Republic) and Priscila Cavilha (Brazil). The first round in the finals went to Cavilha but she dropped to the 3rd place in the last round. On the other hand, de Leon advanced from the 3rd place to the top, while former bodyfitness star Urbakova maintained her 2nd position. It is Urbankova’s best achievement from her turning to women’s physique. It seems she has finally found her ultimate sport division. Arnold Brazil runner-up Daniele Oazen took the 4th position and the European Championships bronze medal winner Mara Fino (Italy) ended in the 5th place
Over 163 cm class: Canadian star and Miss Manitoba Physique 2014 winner Susan Ormiston won all three rounds and was an unquestionable leader. In the second round she was pressed by the 2014 World Masters Championships runner-up Marjorie Beck but in the last round Marjorie dropped to the 5th position. In this situation, the most “dangerous” opponents for Ormiston were two last year’s Arnold stars: the champion Joan Liew (Singapore) and the 3rd place winner Paola Sanchez (Dominican Republic). They were toed in the 2nd place in the first round but the next two rounds decided about the final order: the runner-up title for Sanchez and the 3rd place for Liew.
